KSI is coordinating a multi-disciplinary project where students are creating a to-scale version of the solar system that maps over the state of 监察s. Imagine driving on I-70 across the state 和 having this app tell you where you are in the solar system, when you reach the orbit of each planet/object, 和 the relative size 和 other interesting facts about each object. In 2020 students began designing, coding, researching, writing, 和 building the application. In ‘zhúje ‘waxóbe/Sacred Red Rock Project
堪萨斯研究所 is a collaborator on the Mellon Foundation grant project In ‘zhúje ‘waxóbe/Sacred Red Rock. Other recent projects include:
- Tai爱德华兹 shared a Big Idea on the Humanities 监察s website: How Should We Honor Someone's Military Service?
- 记录口述历史. This began with Vietnam-era veterans in “监察s Stories of the Vietnam War” – a Humanities 监察s project. KSI has continued this work, recording oral histories with veterans of any era. KSI also partnered with Special Olympics 监察s on “Celebrating Inclusion Since 1970: A Special Olympics 监察s Oral History.”
- Production assistance for 监察s-themed documentaries.
- Hosting lectures on a variety of 监察s topics, such as depletion of the Ogallala aquifer, artistic representations of 监察s, 和 Quindaro Townsite preservation.
- Commissioning 和 maintenance, 包括草原燃烧, of Stan Herd’s “earthworks” installation titled 监察, on the southwestern side of the 赌钱app可以微信提现 campus.
- Traveling with students 和 teaching coursework on the state.
- Student internships involving a range of opportunities, including researching 和 designing installations in celebration of 赌钱app可以微信提现’s 50th anniversary; publishing peer-reviewed scholarship; 和 assisting in the Johnson County Trails Project that posts historic signage around the county’s hiking trails.
- Annual programming on 监察s Day, Jan. 29 – the date 监察s became a state.
